RIP Hickstead

For those who have no idea who this gorgeous horse is, this is Hickstead. Many people said that this 15.3hh beauty was too small to be a show jumper. He proved everyone wrong. He jumps amazingly high heights for his size. He loved what he did. If anyone was lucky enough to see this horse jump you would understand how truly magnificent he was. The expression on his face as he jumped was so soft and you could tell that he was at home in the ring. Not only did he love what he did but he was good at it too. Hickstead stands as one of the best show jumpers in the world. This stallion knew he stuff, nothing was too big for him, he cleared jumps over his head with graceful ease. He was truly amazing.

Sadly Hickstead collapsed Sunday, right after finishing a round at a tournament in Verona, Italy. He died on the spot, millions watched as he had a heart attack… Hickstead was 15, and had been in the 2008 Bejing Olympic games and won. My heart goes out to Eric Lamaze, the owner and rider. The horse community as a whole lost a gorgeous, beautiful, talented horse.

Hickstead is jumping the clouds now. No horse could ever replace Hickstead. He was a one of a kind, and will be sorely missed by many people.

RIP Hickstead<3

RIP Baby. Hope your still wowing the crowd in heaven. You’re a true champ :)
